At a Glance:

My goal, to help improve one's mental and behavioral health to enable achieving one's life goals and reduce excessive duress. I provide a space where clients can feel heard as I get to know their strengths and challenges. I'll combine these strengths with Evidence-based practices to build skills needed for goal achievement and in the least restrictive manner possible and as quickly possible. When goals are uncertain, I will assist in clarifying them. Each treatment plan is developed and delivered in a way respectful of one's uniqueness with feedback provided regularly along the journey. Let's grow!

With over 30 years' experience, it's been a privilege to assist roughly 9,000 very diverse clients with various challenges and in various settings and I applaud the strength of persons seeking support to improve their resiliency, independence and overall, better their life.

We all face challenges, and some are more difficult at various times in our lives. I aim to improve your resources and resiliency to an extent you may no longer need my regular services although client do return for a "booster" now and then. However, it is my goal to improve your overall independence and rely on the resources in your "natural world."

Why did you become a therapist?

To better understand people so that I may assist them and improve our world.

What can a client expect to experience in session with you?

A skilled listener who has come to understand them and their situation, knows their strengths, and them to use those strengths along with the new skills learned in therapy in order to reach their goals.

If you could be the therapist to one celebrity, who would it be?

Denzel Washington…. if he ever needed it.

How do you spend your free time?

Spending time with family and friends, playing with grandson, traveling or making travel plans, learning about new places, its people, food, customs, etc., doing tasks in home and gardening, landscaping while relishing being in the moment, visiting thrift stores and yard sales, golfing, viewing art and always learning and creating something new.

What's your favorite quirk about yourself?

I sometimes talk to myself aloud when doing tasks, especially boring tasks, to help stay focused. At times, I laugh, also aloud, at my thoughts after hearing them aloud.

What does social justice mean to you?

Removing oppressive barriers and empowering others to overcome them.

How do you believe change happens?

Change happens in many ways, sometimes traumatic. My preference is to promote positive, intentional, informed change by being properly informed, committed to a plan, executing that plan and being flexible enough to modify the plan as needed. Change also happens when people feel loved and valued.
